If you're shopping for door hardware and have not come across the term before, you might be wondering what "Backset" means!
Backset is simply the distance from the edge of the door to the center of your spindle or lock cylinder. If you're working with a new door, this is also the center of the hole you will need to bore to fit the lock. It's important to make sure this is done accurately so the latch can smoothly extend completely into the striker plate.
Please note: While our Mucheln range of handles feature a 60mm backset, a shorter 45mm backset is available in some cases. Please contact us and we can confirm if it's available in your chosen style.
